We don’t usually refer to online arcade games as something that helps aid our education and hone our reflexes, but indeed studies show that they have much more benefit than most would think. This leads us to wonder if the hours spent playing arcade games out of boredom were actually well spent, despite parents telling children they are usually a waste of time.
Two necessary things in life are reflexes and depth perception, in which both allow us to interact with objects in everday life. Having good reflexes can also aid in playing sports and other related physical activity- something that is going to see benefit from playing arcade games. Even the U.S. Army has adopted forms of video game simulations to make the “real thing” for trainees who haven’t had real combat experience.
Wit is another aspect of human characteristics that are improved through arcade games. A new type of rave in game genres is the educational genre, which seeks to increase one’s knowledge on a certain subject through online interaction. This can be as simple as a trivia arcade game, but can also incorporate more interaction such as typing games, which teach users how to type faster and more efficiently through online instruction.
Many of the artsy types will attest that they frequent online arcades, or at least video games in general. One can conclude that arcade games make players more creative as a result, since players are being exposed to scenarios and impose critical thinking where they otherwise wouldn’t be if they hadn’t played arcade games in the first place. As a result, those who play arcade games more frequently, on average, are more creative.
The number one reason we all use arcade games is to pass the time away- the benefits are just a nice addition to being able to stay occupied while at work or school. Keep in mind that playing arcade games at work and school may lead to trouble or even suspension, so don’t take the habit of playing arcade games too far. But for being a free source of entertainment, there are few better ways to cure boredom.
We can’t forget the biggest benefit of arcade games: they enable developers to get into contact with game development companies and make contacts in the industry of game design. Making online arcade games and distributing them for free has been a time tested method in getting one’s career in game development going. And in the case of some popular games, arcade game makers have been able to make a six-figure income from doing what they love best.
Closing Comments
In the end, an arcade game is a helpless thing to engage in as long as it isn’t take to far. Given, they are beneficial, but only if they aren’t interfering with actual things in one’s life.

For any advertising method to be effective, it has to have a target audience that is consuming the medium with which the advertising is attached to. That being said, advertisers are starting to realize that online video advertising is now an effective method to attract large relevant audiences. Online video consumption has grown tremendously in the past few years and as a result, video sharing and video search companies are poised to reap the benefits of video advertising.
Due to the overwhelming demand from advertisers to develop effective methods for online video advertising delivery, some of the online video sharing giants have implemented various forms of online video ad formats. Historically, in-stream ads, also known as pre-roll ads, mid-roll, and post-roll, have been the dominant standard in terms of the format most advertisers gravitated towards due to the prominence of the ad content itself.
Pre-Roll Ads - In this format of advertising, the advertisement clip is inserted before the actual video and while playing the video, the advertisement clip is played first and the viewer is compelled to watch the advertisement before the start of the real video file.
Post-roll Ads - This format includes the advertisements at the end of the video clip and it is up to the viewer to decide whether to watch the advertisement clip or not. This format of advertisement is being used by certain video sites. However, this is not effective for the advertiser as often times users dont watch the entire video.
Mid-Roll Video Ads: Again, like the other in-stream ads, mid-roll streams a short video clip within the video player itself, only with mid-stream, the ad gets played in the middle of the video almost like a normal TV commercial. This seems to be somewhat less offensive to users.
As stated earlier, due to the demand, many of these video websites have begun to test and offer new, innovative ad solution for video. One of these experimental format is the In-Player ad: With in-player ads the player skin itself can be used to place relevant images or text content for the advertiser so that the ad is displayed for the entire time that the video is played.
One of the most promising video advertisement formats is contextual advertising which attempts to match advertisements with the most relevant content and visa-versa. This ad itself can take of various different forms, in-video banners, lower-thirds, and contextual text overlay advertisements. The nice thing about this particular method is that it does not disturb the viewing of the video and it responds only when the viewer clicks on it.
One of the most popular version of contextual video advertising is that of what is known as the “overlay ad.” In this format, relevant textual ads are scrolled or displayed across a small portion of the video screen (usually the bottom). Users in particular prefer this format as it is relatively unobtrusive.
Although there are a few other formats that are being tested and utilized, the formats that I covered are the most commonly used formats at the moment. That being said, with the attention on this sector as it is, we will likely continue to see rapid innovation and will keep our eye out for the next best online video ad format.

It’s totally possible now to get high quality TV right on your PC via the magic of the Internew. Provided you have high speed Internet - via WiFi or network cable, and the software I’d like to discuss, you can get great reception from over 4,000 channels from hundreds of countries. That’s an incredible amount of video information. And yet, it’s totally free!
The satellite TV for PC software is sophisticated and unique and aggregates these channels into one streamlined place where all you do is dial up what to watch and the software displays the channel options. Make a selection and you’re watching TV on your PC. Thousands of channels from hundreds of countries, of course I was skeptical. And without a monthly fee - I knew it couldn’t be legal.
Watching TV on your PC with this software is very legal because these channels have already been cleared for broadcast via the Internet. There is no illegal form or a hack to some satellite or cable network. And the software is legal as well with no spyware or viruses. I also found a few different options with this in that the more expensive models carry many more channels than the cheaper ones. With my background, I know this is a good deal.
I worked in radio and TV for over 15 years with my own show in the Dallas/Fort Worth market. We were given many things over the years to try and to look at. But this is one product that I don’t know how I lived without. It lets me get those exciting soccer games that I grew up with in Brazil and I can tune into something of interest almost any time of day. And what a value!
This is getting to sound like a big commercial for this thing, and I don’t want it to. Just an article to tell you that this is available and there are some keen comparison sites to help. For the price, it’s a good value now. This software finds streaming TV video quickly and that’s a time saver. But if you’re thinking it’s too complicated for you, think again.
I am not Bill Gates when it comes to these PC’s and in fact I have a buddy named Dennis who comes over every so often to check my computer. But when I looked at the instructions for this satellite TV for PC software, I knew I could handle it without calling Dennis. And guess what? It installed smoothly and easily - I still remember it. There’s one more quick point I have to tell you.
Satellite TV for PC software is on my desktop, ready to use. And provided I have a high speed connection, which I do, and a wireless card on my notebook, I can get all these channels - free. No hardware on either PC or notebook - it’s a simple software install. I think that’s pretty convenient. But like anything - all good things will come to an end. Already on the 4,000 channel website I see they will increase their price soon.
And even if they do increase the price - and I’m sure it won’t double - but if it did - it would be worth it. I just paid over $150 for a DVD player… and this is much less than that. I installed on my PC and notebook - which I suppose is OK. I can take that wherever they have wireless and watch TV. And that’s pretty sweet.

If you perform a simple search on video search or video SEO, you will be bombarded with numerous articles that try to explain this technique. Video search optimization, or Video SEO (VSEO) is a new bug that has bitten the world recently. Though it’s a new technique, still many companies have started using it aggressively to earn high ranking and more business.
To ensure that your video gets seen and discovered on these search engines, it is important to first learn some of the technical aspects that are important to online video as well as search.
There is misconception that, keyword research for video content is same as standard organic search or other search verticals. This is not true and moreover, till now there aren’t keyword research tools to determine and measure video search results. Before you begin with your actual video search optimization, put together your keyword list. The list can be based on standard search results; however, they should be supplemented with results from news search engine results pages for more appropriate content. At this early phase of online video revolution, video searches at this point tend to be shorter keywords as opposed to “long tail” searches. More than any other piece of advice, make sure you include the word “video” in your keyword list. Examples - car videos, car video, racing video, automotive videos, etc….
The next step after you have generated a keyword list is to take a good look at the video search platforms to see which channels and categories, tags, etc… tend to get the most views, as well as to look at which platforms have the highest performance in views, ratings, etc… You will certainly want to submit your video to multiple sites but you will want to make sure that at the least, you submit your video to the more popular engines.
Well, as you know with keyword research, it is an ongoing process. It is important to pay attention to the feedback, comments, and links to existing related videos to find related keyword terms that you may have missed in your original keyword list.
You will want to encourage readers to submit feedback as studies show that users who provide feedback tend to be more active and easier to convert. In other words, those users that provide feedback, typically are more likely to call, email, visit your site, etc…
If you can do this, it is always better to pick a video theme that is not saturated in terms of competition out there. As an example, a video about Tom Cruise will likely be very hard to optimize for as there are thousands of results for that search.
Another important factor to know is that typically, users do not watch videos that are long and drawn out. Instead, users want quick snacks of video content, usually viewing no more than a few minutes of a video. If you have a video that is many minutes long, consider creating several shorter clips for your video ranging from 1-3 minutes in total length.
You can even put the actual branding inside the video, such as text or domain name or specific URL as a graphic in the video. Of course, getting users back to your website or business is one great result for doing video SEO in the first place.
So if you wish to succeed in search engine optimization’s mad frenzy race, video search engine optimization is an incredible new way to get exposure, and you have the opportunity right now, to get in the ground floor.

The best video players around is Zune. This is because of the awesome sound it produces as well as its large screen.
Monthly Subscriptions - One can also get free or monthly subscription videos from sites but what about all those amateur and funny videos that everybody has been watching on YouTube? There is no way to stream the videos directly on the Zune player but with the right tools and processes, you too can have the YouTube videos played on your Zune.
The Format
Keep in mind that Zune players play one of three formats: MOV, WMV (which is the Microsoft Windows standard codec), and MPEG4. YouTube videos are never on this format. In fact, YouTube videos are more likely to be in the 3GP format that is recorded by mobile devices from phones or in the FLV format that is actually Flash-based video.
This makes the video lighter and therefore easier to stream online. But the beauty of this is that the videos on YouTube can be ripped and therefore can be converted into Zune videos that can be used on the player.
What You Need
Internet Access - To get all these FLV videos, you will need access to YouTube and thus a computer and an Internet connection. You will then need software called YouTuber Video Downloader. Once installed, right click on the icon and then select the New Download option. You then add a new download by copying and pasting a link of your desired YouTube video into the box next to the word URL. Choose a folder where you would like to save the video and click OK.
Freeware Online - Now, the next thing you need is a freeware and this can also be downloaded for free online. This software can convert FLV files to MPEG4 and it can also convert many other types of formats. All you have to do is configure all the settings so that the output of the video will be MPEG4. Select the flash video that you downloaded from YouTube and drag it into the empty space in the software. Click the Encode button and just wait for the file to be converted.
Sync PC with Zune - Now, once you have the video converted, all you have to do is sync your Zune with your PC. Make sure that the new MPEG4 is in the folder where the Zune checks for videos. This is one of the best ways to get videos that you want from YouTube and if you can find videos from other sites in the FLV format and download them, you can go through the same conversion process to make them playable on your Zune. A simple sync of the converted files and you can enjoy your new Zune videos downloaded from YouTube!
